Tenth season of Gazprom’s Football for Friendship Programme kicks off in Moscow

The tenth season of the Gazprom’s Football for Friendship draw took place on Monday, January 29, 2024, in Moscow, Russia. The programme is geared towards the theme “Football for Friendship,” which is organised by Gazprom.

The tenth season of the Gazprom Football for Friendship will commence from February 18 to 25, 2024, in the new physical format, which is the physical + digital format. The tournament themed “Football for Friendship” will be held in Kazan.

The tournament, which takes the physical and digital formats, or, in other words, the physical format, will be the first international physical sports tournament that aligns to be the Game of the Future.

The draw comprises six teams that will be competing in February’s Football for Friendship tournament. The six friendship teams to take part in the tournament will be represented by names like Franklin’s Bumblebee, Tiger Quoll, Caspian Seal, Socorro Dove, Gobi Bear, and Onager.

13 countries, including Russia, Belarus, Benin, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Romania, North Macedonia, Serbia, Syria, Slovenia, Tanzania, Turkey, and the Central African Republic, will be taking part in the Football for Friendship tournament. Young football players, 12-year-old boys and girls, will be the main focus of this tournament.

All competition participants will receive the status of Young Ambassadors of “Football for Friendship” and, upon returning home, will continue to share their experience and promote the values of the programme: friendship, equality, justice, health, peace, loyalty, victory, traditions, and honour.

“Football for Friendship” is a unique international children’s social programme that has been implemented by Gazprom since 2013. The programme covered 211 countries and regions of the world, brought together more than 6 thousand participants, and acquired over 5 million supporters”; International Children’s Social Programme.
