Hasaacas Ladies to face Ampem Darkoa in Women’s Special Competition

It was a journey of 16 teams in four groups, however, 3pm on Sunday at the El-Wak Stadium, the two teams who have come out of the fire alive will square off for a champion to be named.

Two of the most successful clubs in the National Women’s League will be called to duty to defend why they are the best in their respective zones with the aim of keeping players and clubs active.

Also, for an official resumption of competitive female football activities in the country, as well selecting players for the senior national football team, the NCSWC was instituted.

Three (3) time league champions and pride of the west, Hasaacas Ladies made it to the finals alongside Ampem Darkoa Ladies.

Hasaacas Ladies vied off competition in Group C alongside Lady Strikers, Soccer Intellectuals and Sea Lions. Coach Yusif Basigi’s side shockingly lost two (2) games on the trot Lady Strikers and Sea Lions.

Gradually, they joined party with two (2) consecutive draws against Soccer Intellectuals and Lady Strikers. They finally found their foot by defeating Sa Lions and Soccer Intellectuals to move to the knockout stage of the competition.

Coach Yussif Basigi and his charges were drawn against another Southern Zone giant Police Ladies. At the MATS Park in Teshie Hasaacas Ladies were handed 3-1. The “dooo” girls left it all on the pitch when they recorded an emphatic 2-0 win over the Service Ladies to book another date with Sea Lions.

Hasaacas defied all odds to reach the finals of the NCSWC. Black Queens players Linda Eshun, Lily Niber Lawrence and Black Maidens forward Milot Abena Pokua all geared up for Hasaacas.

The tussle for Ampem Darkoa began in Group B, with Northern Ladies, Pearlpia Ladies and Prison Ladies.

The Techiman based team were poised for action from day 1. Featuring players like Priscilla Okyere, Justice Tweneboah, Mavis Owusu and Grace Asantewaa the “Nanamma” were ready to be champions of the Northern Zone again.

Recording four draws against Pearlpia Ladies and twice with Prisons Ladies as well as Northern Ladies and getting the maximum points against Northern and Pearlpia gave them a place in the knockout stage.

They arrived in the finals after beating Prisons Ladies both home and away. The first leg of this game, Referee Theresah Bremansu was brutalized by some fans of Prisons Ladies.

The lot has been cast now and it is three time champions Hasaacas Ladies coming against two time Champions Ampem Darkoa at the El-Wak stadium on Sunday April 14th, 20019 at 3pm.
