Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club’s in form striker, Steven Mukwala Desse has openly declared that his side is in a great shape currently to beat Accra Hearts of oak in Ghana’s version of El Classico.

Kumasi Asante Kotoko on Sunday, December 10, 2023 will take on their arch rivals Accra Hearts of Oak in what is arguably the biggest game in Ghana football at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. The super clash between the two great clubs is going to be a mouthwatering encounter although the two teams over the years have lost some consistency.

In a build up to the game, Asante Kotoko’s poster boy Steven Mukwala has expressed some optimism about their game against Hearts of Oak in the first super clash of the 2023/2024 Ghana Premier league season. The Ugandan international ,disclosed that currently Kotoko is armed enough to beat the rainbow boys from Accra due to their impressive form and results in their last three games.

“We are expecting a good game because we’ve picked our momentum now. With the form we have now, I think we shall win the match;” said Steven Mukwala.

Steven Mukwala has been heavily involved in Kotoko’s consistent performance in their last three games scoring in all three for the “Porcupine Worries” including the lone goal that granted Kotoko all three points over Berekum Chelsea on Monday, December 5, 2023.

Asante Kotoko find themselves at 7th position on the league standings with 19 points, while Hearts of Oak sits below them at the 8th position with 16 points.

Due to closure of the Accra Sports stadium to sporting activities this December, Accra Hearts of Oak will be playing home at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
