The Head of Research and Sports Journalist with Accra-based Citi FM and TV, Nathan Quao has revealed that there are deeper problems in Ghana football than the sacking of Coaches.

Ghana after an abysmal performance at the just-ended African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon sacked Coach Milovan Rajevac who was barely four months in charge in his second stint with the Senior men’s national team, the Black Stars.

Coach Milovan, performed poorly, amassed a point from a possible 9 points and was shown the exit, when Ghana exited the tournament at the group stage.

Mr. Quao is of the view that Ghana’s setbacks are far beyond the sacking of Coaches.

“There are deeper problems in Ghana football, each AFCON we go it reminds us of our problems, it’s beyond the sacking of Coaches.” Nathan Quao said.

He added that Ghana needs a significant structure and system to develop the sport.

“Are our Coaches even in tune with what’s happening elsewhere, do they know what a Ghana player looks like? We need a serious structure and system to develop our game, ” he added.

Nathan Quao was speaking on the third edition of the GTV Sports+ program dubbed “Saving Our Passion” which hosted the current generation of Sports journalists to discuss Ghana’s footballing problems.
