As eminent personalities, current and past GFA Presidents meet on GTV SPORTS + program dubbed “Save Our Passion”, to deliberate on the way forward to redeem Ghana sports, some Ghanaians especially football enthusiasts hope the discussion will help make a difference to revive the game which is dwindling.

Amongst the eminent personalities is Former GFA President, Nana Sam Brew-Butler who reigned from 1993 to 1997, an era that saw the Black Starlets capture gold at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in 1995.

Last year, Mr Brew-Butler, who is the president of Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs, was confident that the Black Stars will qualify for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar in December this year and was convinced that Coach Milovan Rajevac was the right man to lead the nation to the next World Cup. With the poor performance of the Black Stars in the just ended AFCON 2021, one would ask, are they even poised to qualify for the World Cup?

Mr Brew-Butler Confidence in the Black Stars may be shaky as coach Milovan Rajevac could not even send the Black Stars to the semi-finals in the just ended AFCON 2021 which was hosted by Cameroon and won by Senegal.

Saving our passion

As Mr Brewers-Butler joins the discussion tonight to find a lasting solution to save Ghanaians passion and love for football, he hopes the country will learn from its mistakes and build on success made in the previous years. He believes the deliberation will be a fruitful one to save the image of the Black Stars and Sports at large.

Nana Brewers-Butler said he will bring his expertise to bear to help build the national team and redeem the image of Ghana football.

It is the hope of every Ghanaian that the passion for football will be brought back.
