Sports Ministry signs $1 million sponsorship deal with KGL Group

KGL Group operators of the National Lottery Authority online games has signed a one million dollar sponsorship package with the Ministry of Youth and Sports to support the various national teams.
The package follows an appeal by President Akufo-Addo for corporate Ghana to support the national teams.
The package is also in fulfillment of KGL’s commitment and support towards sports development in the country by augmenting the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) efforts in preparing the various national football teams, especially the Black Stars, to partake in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations and 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Corporate Affairs Director of KGL Group, Ken Mpare, expressed his pleasure at the official agreement which signifies the start of a good partnership.
He said, “KGL’s social accountability goes beyond just giving back to society or charity, but encompasses the complete integration of KGL’s business divisions and operations to impact all aspects of society economically, socially, and environmentally.”
He reiterated KGL Group’s continued support to the GFA and the Ministry of Youth and Sports in exploring areas of collaboration towards the collective goal of sports development through the  KGL Foundation.
Minister for Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif, expressed his delight about the collaboration towards sports development in the country especially with the support  towards the national football teams.
He said the resources will be managed appropriately and channeled towards fulfilling the intended objective and to achieve the aspiration of Ghanaians.
President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku, added that, “the  move will go a long way in helping the institution’s quest towards repositioning Ghana football as the nation’s premier sports and to prepare very well for the intended assignments.”
Mr. Okraku further stated that it is his hope that the step taken by KGL Group would energise other institutions to also heed the call of the President.
Present at the official signing event include: Executive Council Member of the GFA, Samuel Anim Addo; General Secretary, Prosper Harrison Addo (Esq.); Director of Marketing, Jamil Maraby; and Henry Asante Twum, Director of Communications.
The others include Alex Dadey, Executive Chairman; Ken Mpare, Director of Corporate Affairs; Ato Williams, a Director; Christian Salamouni, Technical Director; and Clyde Gaze, Marketing Director represented KGL Group.
