The member of parliament for Upper West Akyem in the Eastern Region Hon Frederick Adom Obeng has revealed plans to ensure his constituents benefit from modern football astroturf.

The project which is expected to take 6 months for its completion will see the constructor moving to the site in the next few weeks.

According to the deputy transport minister, the much-talked-about facility is part of GNPC Foundation and is the Corporate Social Investment Arm of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation and is dedicated to impacting the lives of ordinary Ghanaians through community and social intervention programs.

‘With the help of myself, the DCE, and the chief of Adeiso Berima Aaare Odure II, we have been able to convince GNPC Foundation to come to our aid with a modern astroturf. The contractor is to be on-site in the coming weeks. The facility will be erected at Adeiso for all and sundry to access it”.

‘We are expecting to take care of it so we can all benefit by unearthing talents and also the development of quality players to project the national course’.

The project which comes with a football pitch, an inner perimeter fence, floor lights, washrooms, reverse and spectator stands, goal post, and changing rooms, is expected to be completed in six months.
