Legacy Rise Sports is partnering with Point Kick Boxing Ghana in this year’s Steve Fossum IKF Classics tournament scheduled for July in Nevada, Las Vegas.
Two of Ghana’s IKF boxers Haruna Osmanu and Selorm Darko will come face to face with Americans Mike Sheppard and Caleb Plant in the classics in the United States from the 10th to the 12th of July, respectively.
The aim of the collaboration is for PKB Ghana to secure the professional matchmaking services of an international boxing syndicate like Legacy Rise and its representative, Yusif Mumbarack.
The Steve Fossum Memorial IKF West Coast Boxing Classics is a kickboxing Muay Thai tournament held by the International Kickboxing Federation (IKF) every year for boxers, kickboxers, and martial artists across the world.
This year, Ghana’s Osmanu Haruna will come face-to-face with Mike Shappard while Selorm Darko locks horns with Caleb Plant in the three-day tournament, beginning from the 10th to the 12th of July.
Outlining details of the partnership, Legacy Rise Matchmaker Mubarack Yusif Nanor says the target is to strengthen the promotional terms with PKB Ghana and help its boxers to secure international fights and needed sponsorship to give them the needed exposure.
He said the vision is to make the sport more attractive to encourage more youth to venture into it.
President of IKF PKB Ghana, Ibrahim Ahmed, said Osmanu and Darko are highly motivated by the opportunity given to them and have no doubt the boxers will go out there and make Ghana proud.
He expressed appreciation on the partnership with Legacy Rise and looks forward to greater events in the future.
He also revealed there will be refereeing and officiating courses available open to the boxers and former fighters at the international level.
