A fan of Asante Kotoko who was shot by the police during disturbances after the club’s 0-1 loss at home to Berekum Chelsea yesterday is stable and responding to treatment.

The Kumasi-based club said they are following the development and will duly update their followers.

The fan whose identity has not been disclosed is receiving treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi. He has ferried away in a police ambulance after being hit by a seemingly stray bullet from the law enforcers who tried to disperse the raging crowd with warning shots. Chief Superintendent James Annor in charge of the Stadium Security confirmed this to Gbcghanaonline.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the Kotoko FC supporters union, Nana Kwame Danquah, has called for swift investigation into the matter.
