Director of Openlabs calls for action-based approach to tackle cyber crime

The Director of Openlabs Ghana formerly known as NIIT Dr. Sujith Jayaprakash says the introduction of a new policy on cyber security in the country will go a long way to reduce cyber threats in the country.

Speaking to GBCNEWS, Dr. Jayaprakash called for an all hands on deck approach to tackle cyber crime which is currently gaining grounds among the youth in the country.

Openlabs Ghana formerly known as NIIT was established in 1999 to offer programs in Information Communication Technology (ICT).

With a student population of over 1,000, it has trained several students from Ghana and across the sub region in information technology.

It offers UK Diploma programs in information and Digital Technologies. At a ceremony to admit new students, the Director of the Institute, Dr. Sujith Jayaprakash said, Openlabs is poised to train students to become IT professionals.

He lauded the government for backing the use of ICT in all sectors of the economy.

Openlabs Ghana collaborates with the Central University, Reagent University College of Science and Technology, Accra Business School, Pentecost University and Koforidua Technical University to provide training in ICT.
