A Medical Officer with the Community Hospital in Kukurantumi, in the Eastern Region, Dr. Charles Debrah, has been crowned the 2021 champion of the grand finale of GBC’s popular ‘What do you Know Quiz competition on Radio and TV. He beat the reigning champion and four other contestants to win the coveted title. He took home a seven thousand cedis cash prize.
In a speech, the Acting Director of Radio of the GBC, Yaw Opoku Agyapong, appealed to corporate Ghana to sponsor the competition to bring the best out of Ghanaians.
The 2021 grand finale of the quiz competition, was a clash of the Titans as it saw two debutants, two former champions, and two other undisputed veterans compete for the top prize.
With just a point, Medical Officer with the Community Hospital in Kukurantumi, in the Eastern Region, Dr. Charles Debrah, beat the reigning champion, Fred Danso Amoako, to carry the day. The longest-serving quiz master of the programme, was in his element as he quizzed the contestants on various and diverse issues at home and abroad.
Acting Director of Radio of the GBC, Yaw Owusu Agyapong, expressed appreciation to the Ghana Chamber of Mines for its support of the programme and called on corporate Ghana to come on board. Mr. Agyepong encouraged the contestants to continue researching as a way of broadening their intellect.
From a humble beginning as a Radio programme at the Arts Center in Accra, “What do you Know” continues to be one of the quiz competitions in the country. The programme has contributed to the success story of the GBC.
