By Caleb Agyekum Aidoo

Caretaker of Akwadum Christian Village Orphanage in the New Juaben North Municipality of the Eastern Region, Janet Amankwah, has appealed to Philanthropists, the Government, Christian Organizations and the public to come to their aid.

She disclosed that since the death of Pastor Elizabeth Osei, Founder of the Orphanage Pastor ll projects in the Orphanage have come to a halt, while feeding the children has also become a difficult task.

She further added that their situation is escalating as a result of the current economic hardship being experienced in the country.

Madam Amankwah further appealed for sponsorship for some of the children who have completed JHS and SHS to further their education. She made the appeal when the Mark Grace Foundation donated assorted drinks, tubers of yam, bags of rice, sachet bags of water, and sanitary and used clothes worth thousands of Cedis to the Orphanage.

Chief Executive Officer of Mark Grace Foundation, Pastor Mark Bempong Danso speaking to GBC appealed to the public to extend a helping hand to the less privileged in society, especially during the Christmas festivities.
