Police arrest Chinese national for causing harm to co-worker in Takoradi

The Police have arrested a Chinese national for using an offensive weapon to cause harm to his Ghanaian co-worker at a construction site at Kweikuma suburb of Takoradi, in the Western Region.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the suspect, Xue Hue, on September 28, 2022, allegedly attacked the victim, who is a mason with a construction company at Kweikuma, with a knife inflicting a cut on his neck.

The victim has since been treated and discharged.

Meanwhile, the suspect is in custody assisting investigation and will be put before Court on September 30, 2022, to face justice, according to the Public Affairs Directorate- Ghana Police Service.

Earlier, reports as narrated  to Twin City Radio News in Sekondi, said some of the workers of the construction company were demanding their salaries when tempers flared.

Some of them noted that their salaries had not been paid and were in a meeting to get their salaries paid when the injured confronted the Chinese boss to find out what caused the delay in payment of salaries.

This according to them resulted into an argument and the Chinese boss pulled a flick knife and slashed the throat his throat.

The victim, Isaac Boateng, a machine operator in the Company is receiving treatment at the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital in Sekondi whiles the case has been reported to the Adiembra Police Station for further investigations.
