The WHO has said a vaccine will likely be found but it will take time

More than 242 deaths from the coronavirus were recorded in the Chinese province of Hubei yesterday, the deadliest since the outbreak.

The new cases and deaths have pushed the national death toll above one thousand three hundred and fifty, with almost sixty thousand cases in total.

There was also a huge increase in the number of cases, with fourteen thousand eight hundred and forty people diagnosed with the virus.

Hubei has started using a broader definition to diagnose people which accounts for most of the rise in cases.

Until yesterday’s cases, the number of people diagnosed in Hubei where the outbreak emerged was stabilising.
