The Alliance for Social Equity and Public Accountability (ASEPA) wants the Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu, impeached and fired for alleged incompetence.
The Anti-Corruption Group, said its assessment of the OSP since the office was established some thirty months ago, shows that Mr. Amidu has not initiated any legal proceedings against any major corruption Scandal that happened between 2018-2020.
The Office has also not made public reports on any major investigations it has conducted.
In a letter copied to the President and Speaker of Parliament, ASEPA said the Special Prosecutor has turned his office into a “Book Review Center”, instead of a Prosecution Unit, a situation that calls for a review of the law that does not allow the occupant of the Special Prosecutors’ Office to be fired.
