The Ghana National Canoe Fishermen Council says it will now abide by the 15th May to 15th June time line for this year’s closed fishing season.
Hither to, the Council said the time line for the close season is not scientific enough to achieve the desired results.
According to the Executive Secretary of the Council, Nii Abeo Kyerekuanda, it will be appropriate to ensure that all fishing activities are banned during the closed season in order to sustain the targeted fish stock.
