The Transport Minister, Kwaku Ofori Asiamah has refuted claims that workers of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA), will lose their jobs due to the Port Expansion Project.
He noted that his Ministry has set up a committee between the GPHA and Meridian Port Services (MPS) to look into the concerns being expressed by the workers in terms of the job losses among other issues arising from the expansion project.
He said his Ministry met with the GPHA Union and the Minister of Employment, who has assured them on no job losses.
Mr. Asiamah said the expansion project will open up for more recruitment.
