The Senior Staff Association, Universities of Ghana, made up of all senior workers of public universities nationwide, have started an indefinite strike demanding better conditions of service and long overdue allowances.

According to them, their market premium, 18 percent of non-basic allowance and a revision of their condition of service have not been honoured by Government since 2008.

Speaking to GBC’s Radio Ghana, the local Chairman of the University of Ghana branch of the Association, Francis Sosu said they have mobilised a task force to go around offices to stop their members from working until government addresses their demands.
