The Ghana Football Association (GFA), has disclosed that Ghana will submit its 25-man provisional squad of the Black Stars for the upcoming World Cup to FIFA, in line with the organiser’s requirement.
GFA’s Communication Director, Henry Asante Twum, who made this known in Kumasi noted that, the Association will meet also FIFA’s demand on participating countries in the World Cup to confirm their final teams by 1st June, 2026,
He noted, “we have to name our provisional squad by middle of next month and then the final squad would be announced by 1st of June. What I can say is that, people are expectant. There are also those who don’t believe in the team but it’s part of the process because results have not been friendly in recent games.”
The GFA’s Communications Director, could not, however, say whether or not the new Head Coach of the Black Stars, Carlos Queiroz, would retain the rest of the team’s technical staff after the dismissal of the Head Coach, Mr. Otto Addo.
Meanwhile, the United States Embassy in Ghana has said more Visa processing offices have been created to enable the Embassy to reduce the processing period for B1 and B2 Visa Applications thereby reducing the processing time to about one month and without any deliberate impediment to Ghanaians willing to travel to the United States for purposes of the world’s biggest football event to be jointly hosted by USA, Canada and Mexico in June.

The Acting Public Affairs Officer of the Embassy, Matthew Asada gave the assurance in an interview with GBC in Kumasi.
“We do have a Visa appointment. We going to see each applicant to see if they qualify for Visa under existing US immigration law. So that’s really important. What we’ve done is we’ve added offices here at the Embassy in Accra so that we can do more of Visa Appointment and that’s what has helped to drop our visa wait time from 15 months to one month today,” Mr. Asada said.
