Road Transport Operators have announced a 15.3 percent reduction in transport fares effective Monday 19th of December, 2022. This they say has become necessary following the recent reduction in the price of petroleum products.
A statement jointly signed by the Ghana Private Road Transport Union and the Ghana Road Transport Coordinating Council said the new adjustment will cover road transport operations such as shared taxis, Intra-city otherwise known as trotro, intercity long distance and haulage.
The statement requests all commercial transport operators to comply with the new fares.
Commuters have been urged to cooperate for a successful implementation.
