The Ghana Police Service has filed an application at the High Court, for an order prohibiting actress Yvonne Nelson and two others Selorm Dramani Dramado and Henry Osei Akoto from holding an intended picketing on May 25, 2024 at the Revolution Square in Accra.

The intended action is to protest recent power outages in parts of the country. The injunction application will be heard on Friday, May 24, at the High Court in Accra.

The Police Administration went to Court after the Greater Accra Regional Police Command could not come to an agreement with organizers of the proposed demonstration on the chosen venue and the time at a meeting on May 15, 2024.

Meanwhile, organizers of the intended protest have indicated plans to challenge the injunction filed by the Police.
