The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has announced the establishment of a ministerial committee to review the revocation of the mining licence of Adamus Resources Limited.

According to the Minister, the decision is driven by the need to ensure fairness and protect investor confidence in Ghana’s mining sector.

The announcement was made on Thursday during a meeting with the management of Adamus Resources Limited, following a petition submitted by the company to the Ministry.

Mr. Armah-Kofi Buah described the engagement as constructive, emphasing that due process must be followed in addressing the concerns raised.

“It is important that as a Minister I look at the petition that has been brought, and I can say it’s been a very constructive meeting. This is being done in the interest of the investment and the people of Ghana,” he stated.

The Minister disclosed that the committee, made up of officials from the Minerals Commission and the Lands Ministry, has been given a two-week deadline to present its findings.

He added that the review process will allow Adamus Resources the opportunity to respond to any issues identified before a final decision is taken.

“We will directly engage Adamus and give them the opportunity to address the issues,” he said.

In the interim, the Minister has also set up a management committee to oversee operations at the company’s mining site to ensure order and continuity while the review is ongoing.

He further assured that the Ministry will act without prejudice to earlier findings by the Minerals Commission.
