A Member of the Council of State, Mrs Eunice Buah, has in the company of technical experts inspected the current state of the collapsed Princess Town bridge, which links the community to other towns and communities, including Agona Nkwanta, the Ahanta West capital.

The bridge, which collapsed in June this year, has brought untold hardships to the people.

The Council of State Member, also the Divisional Chief of Princess Town and known as Nana Akwanzi Abraba, who inspected the bridge, said the collapsed bridge is of great concern to her and the people.

She, therefore, went to the site with the CEO of Peekorb Construction, Mr Peter Obosu, to offer technical advice on how to salvage the situation. According to her, the project seems capital-intensive, and she will therefore liaise with the appropriate state to remedy the situation.

Nana Akwanzi Abrab, therefore, entreated the people of Princess Town and the neighbouring communities to exercise patience as she seeks help for the people. The Assembly Member for Princess Town, Joseph Bordoh said the collapse of the bridge is of great concern to the people as it is impacting negatively on their livelihoods. He indicated that people now spend more on transportation as they have to make detours through other communities before reaching their destinations. Princess Town is a tourist, fishing, and farming community which also hosts Fort Fredericksburg.
