Police in Bole have confirmed a 6pm to 6am curfew on the Bole Township following chieftaincy related violence there Wednesday. Eid-ul-Fitr prayers were called off due to the violence.

GBC’s Mutala Issah reports that security personnel fired warning shots to prevent a clash between youth groups affiliated to rival chieftaincy factions.

One of the two feuding chiefs had entered the town from Damongo to celebrate the Eid with the people. Some youth got wind that the rival chief was in town and planned the attack.

Reports say two houses and a guest house were burnt by the protesting youth.
