The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), has welcomed and seconded the organisation of the “Annual Ghana Media and Music Dinner Night” initiative, which seeks to celebrate media excellence as well as to honour and acknowledge the achievements of media personalities in Ghana.

The event, which was held at the Accra International Conference Centre last Saturday, saw lots of media, sporting, and movie personalities come together in a relaxing and cozy atmosphere.

As the tagline of the evening was “Annual Ghana Media and Music Dinner Night”, two of the ever-green Ghanaian musicians Adane Best and Obrafour entertained the well-attended audience with spectacular performances.

In a speech to the gathering, the President of GJA, Mr. Albert Kwabena Dwumfuor, lauded the organisers of the Ghana Media and Music Dinner Night, in partnership with Lakeside Village and Net Village, for the successful organization of the maiden edition of the dinner gala.

The GJA President described the event as a brilliant initiative saying “it feels good to be here and participate in this event. I am so happy because, as media people, we often don’t get time due to the pressure to meet deadlines. Organisers of the event recognise the important role the media plays in the socio-economic development of the country.

The organisers carefully put together this great event to enable the media to socialize. It offers us, media practitioners, a great opportunity to socialize and network. We all know the benefits of socializing and networking for our businesses: we make new friends and pitch business ideas.

For this reason, we, as an association, attach so much importance to this event. We are happy to associate ourselves with this brilliant initiative. We will make this event part of the association’s calendar to bridge the gap between the young and the old for both competitiveness and professionalism. With events like this, our doors are always open.”
