Management of the Ghana School of Law has constituted a committee to investigate alleged financial impropriety within the Student Representative Council (SRC) of the school. This follows several allegations of conflict of interest, impropriety, and financial mismanagement leveled against the SRC President, Wonder Victor Kutor. The Management in a statement on April 12, 2022, indicated it would probe the issues rigorously as it does not condone such actions.

Pursuant to that earlier release, a three-member Committee comprising the Head of Faculty and Lecturer, Advocacy and Legal Ethics at the Ghana School of Law, Mrs. Victoria Barth, Deputy Director of Finance in charge of Budget at the Judicial Service, Moses Ansah-Barnor AnkrahEsq, and a retired Chief Superintendent of Police and certified Fraud Examiner, Mrs. Justice Anthony Aduhene-Benieh has been commissioned.

The three have the mandate to investigate allegations of financial impropriety and mismanagement of SRC funds, investigate the management of affairs by the current executive, as well as all other matters relating to the SRC that may come to their attention, and submit findings and recommendations to Management for implementation. The notice urges students with relevant information and evidence concerning the matter under reference to submit the same to the Deputy Registrar.

Victor Kutor, has among other things, been accused of buying a car for the SRC from his company, and another one for his personal use under questionable circumstances. He is also said to be running an SRC-owned Mobile Money business with his company name and diverting proceeds from the business for his own personal use.

The Executive Council of the SRC queried him, but said it was not convinced with his answers, hence constituted a Committee to investigate the matter.

Mr. Kutor was on April 17, 2022, interdicted, one which he considered unconstitutional.
