Special report: Poverty – A Woman’s Tiny Little Wish

Living in the worst conditions imaginable, and unable to afford a square meal a day, seventy-year-old Afua Akoto is not captured on the Livelihood Empowerment against Poverty Program (LEAP), for survival. She has two grandchildren who are gifted with the ability to create, but poverty has shut the door to their dreams for now. And any form of informal sector pension is most certainly not on her cards. GBC’s Beatrice Senadju spent a few days with Afua Akoto, a resident of Dadease, in the Sekyere Kumawu District of Ashanti.
