Lamashegu clashes: Six Police Officers involved in shooting incident interdicted

The Ghana Police Service has interdicted six officers involved in February 13, 2022 shooting incident at Lamashegu in the Northern Region.

According to a statement signed by the Director General of Public Affairs at the Police Headquarters, DCOP Kwesi Ofori, the Police Administration has dispatched a team of investigators to the area to investigate the disturbances.

The six include; General Corporal Samson Kweku Darfour, General Corporal Prosper Mormesimu and General Constable Harrison Twum Danso. The rest are General Constable Matthew Sah, General Constable Nuhu Muntari and Constable Doris Serwa Bonsu.

The statement tasked the Northern Regional Police Commander to liaise with the affected families and offer them the necessary support in line with Police Regulations. It also appealed to the people of Lamashegu and the entire Tamale Metropolis to remain calm as investigations continue into the unfortunate occurrence. The Police assured the public that anybody found culpable will be dealt with according to the law.
