Junior Graphic Editor, Doreen Hammond adjudged Journalist of the year 2018

A Journalist with the Graphic Communications Group Limited, Doreen Hammond has been adjudged 2018, Ghana Journalists Association, (GJA) Best Journalist.

In addition to winning the Journalist of the Year, Ms. Hammond who is Editor of the Junior Graphic also picked the Best Columnist Award of the Year.

The awards ceremony which was  held on Saturday, at the Kempinski Gold Coast City in Accra, saw GBC’s Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng and Janet Abena Quainoo winning the Best Court and Crime Reporter, the Best Rural Reporter- (Electronic), respectively.

GTV picked the Best Democracy and Peace Building Television Station, Best Radio and TV Programme in Ga, Ewe, Savannah, URA Radio, Radio Upper West, all subsidiaries of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation.

The ceremony which climaxed  the 70th Anniversay celebrations of the GJA, was on the theme:, “Democracy, Freedom and Independence of the Media in Ghana.”

The special guest of honour was the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Also present at the ceremony were, the Senior Minister, Yaw Safo Marfo, a Deputy Information Minister, Pius Enam Hadzide and the Tourism Minister, Barbara Oteng Gyasi.
