The University of Ghana, Legon says it will resume lectures Monday, February 28, despite a majority of UTAG members of the University voting against the suspension of the strike. According to a notice to the University Community, the decision was arrived at after a meeting by the Business and Executive Committee of the University, which has approved a revised academic calendar for the 2021/2022 academic year.

Some students in an interview with the GNA welcomed the move and expressed hope that the grievances of the lecturers will be addressed. Some of them complained that due to the strike, lecturers are not mostly around to supervise their project with timelines always being drawn back. The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) announced the resumption of academic activities from Thursday, February 24, 2022.

A statement signed by the Deputy Registrar of KNUST, Margret Dzisi, said the decision was taken following the suspension by UTAG. The Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) has also served notice that lectures will resume tomorrow. The National Executive Committee of UTAG suspended its six-week industrial action after an emergency meeting on Monday, February 21.
