The First Lady Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo spearheaded projects in health, women empowerment and education. Here are highlights of her activities.

When the world marked International Women’s Day, First Lady, Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo encouraged young women to negotiate their way to equality since gender disparity hinders development. At the 2022 International Women’s Day, in Kumasi in the Ashanti region the First Lady urged the younger generation to take the baton as it was being handed over to lead the cause for “Breaking the Biases” with assurance to support with resources, time, and intellect from years of expertise.

ACCRA: FIRST LADY & OTHERS DONATE TO APPIATSE SUPPORT FUND

The First Lady, Mrs. Rebecca Akufo Addo presented a cheque for 50 thousand Ghana cedis to support the Appiatse Support Fund in response to calls for financial assistance to rebuild the Appiatse community.

The event was part of activities that marked the celebration of the Queen’s 70th anniversary as a monarch.

FIRST LADY LAUNCHES BREAST, CERVICAL CANCER PROJECT- OCT 19

First Lady, Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo in partnership with Roche and the Ghana Health Service (GHS), launched a capacity-building project for breast and cervical cancer in Ghana. The project is to help reduce the high incidences of the disease in the country. Under the project, Thermal Coagulation Machines have been purchased to be distributed to the district hospitals in the three project areas to assist in treating cervical cancer right at that level.

REBECCA FOUNDATION DONATES TO SPECIAL SCHOOLS AND ORPHANAGES

The first lady donated food items and school supplies to the SOS Orphanages across the country, Dzorwulu Special School, Mampong School for the deaf and the Accra Psychiatric Hospital Children’s ward among others

FIRST LADY AT MERCK FOUNDATION’S 9TH EDITION OF AFRICA-ASIA LUMINARY IN UAE

First Lady, Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo joined 15 other African First Ladies for the event and spoke on the injustice of stigmatizing women with infertility in Africa.
