Majority Leader rates Government high

The majority leader and leader of Government business in Parliament has said, NPP government has achieved a lot in three years compare to previous administration.

According to him, the rate of economic growth has more than doubled from 2.8% to 7.1% under Nana Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

In his winding up contribution on president’s message on State of the Nation, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonso submitted that, “the country is now self-sufficient in the basic staples including cassava and plantain and we are no longer importing these produce from La Cote d’Ivoire”.

He said, “we have not imported maize over the past 2 years.

Rather, Ghana is exporting maize”.

In the banking sector, the Minister of Parliamentary affairs mentioned that, they
have cleaned up the banking sector and saved depositors from the mismanagement of some deposit-taking houses which really did not qualify to operate as banks.

He noted that, the president acknowledged that “in spite of the good results that have been attained in various facets of our national lives a lot still remain to be done, especially in infrastructure delivery.

Notwithstanding, a lot has been achieved, and it is worth mentioning the achievements under H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s administration.

The House approved the SONA without input from the minority since they chose to abstain.
