Voting ends nationwide; counting underway

Voting has currently ended at centres nationwide in the 2020 general elections and counting is underway.

Ghanaians Monday morning headed  to the polls to elect a President and 275 Members of Parliament to steer the affairs of the country for the next four years.

A total of 17,027,655 registered voters were expected to cast their ballot in about 33,367 polling stations across the country.

12 candidates are vying to be elected President of the Country. They are; Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of the NPP, John Dramani Mahama of the NDC, Christian Kwabena Andrews of GUM, Ivor Kobina Greenstreet of the CPP and Akua Donkor of the GFP. The others are Dr. Henry Herbert Lartey of the GCPP, Hassan Ayariga of APC, Percival Kofi Akpaloo of the LPG, and David Apasera of the PNC. The rest are Brigitte Dzogbenuku of the PPP, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings of the NDP and Alfred Asiedu Walker the Independent Candidate.

The exercise which commenced at 7am ended at 5pm.

Currently, counting has commenced at most centres by officials of the Electoral Commission.
