Some aggrieved members of the Tema Cargo Drivers Union and concerned residents of Site 17, a suburb of Tema Metropolis have demonstrated over a parcel of land opposite Irani Brothers during a demolition exercise by the Tema Metropolitan Assembly.
The demolition was carried out to make way for an Indian investor to construct a weighbridge on the land.
According to them, the land serves as their source of livelihood but was given to the investor to develop.
Some of the aggrieved residents expressed their worry to Radio Ghana.
The Treasurer of the Tema Cargo Drivers Union, George Adams after the demonstration said they will not rest until their demands are met by the Tema Metropolitan Assembly.
