Refugees are people who fled their homes and countries due to a well-founded fear of persecution because of their race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group, or political opinion.
Many refugees are in exile to escape the effects of natural or human-made disasters.
On the occasion of the Day, the UN challenges everyone to join in taking a step with refugees for a better life.
