Tributes continue to pour in following passing of Queen Elizabeth II

Tributes continue to pour in following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. A Ghanaian resident in the UK, Joana Tagoe speaking with GBC NEWS said as a child she was introduced to the Monarchy by her Mother and that has made her interested in news about the Queen and her lineage.

She said she feels sad by the death of the Queen.

“I am actually deeply saddened by her death. After I heard the news I couldn’t go on with work, I’ve been listening to the news and trying to understand a little bit more about her history and things like that. I felt things happened quickly” Joana stated.

While recounting the good memories she has of the Queen, Miss Joana said she knows the Queen is old but things really happened quickly giving that on Tuesday she was at an official ball.

In her condolence message she prayed that the “Good Lord bless her soul because she has really made an impact”.

Sharing some of her memories about the Queen, Miss Tagoe said she visited the Balmoral Castle in May where she saw a portrait of the Queen and this made her more intrigued.

Miss Joana eulogised the Queens love for God, colorful distinct clothing, her tenacity, resilience to different seasons saying that those memories will forever remain with her.

Queen Elizabeth ll died “peacefully” at her home in Balmoral, Scotland, on September 8, 2022, Buckingham Palace announced in a statement. She was 96.”
