Zimbabwe’s former minister of health David Parirenyatwa has reportedly been arrested on alleged criminal abuse of office charges.
According to New Zimbabwe.com, Parirenyatwa was arrested yesterday and was being questioned by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID)’s Serious Fraud Squad.
The report did not clearly state what his offence was. Parirenyatwa was recently expelled from his ministerial post after serving in the post for nearly 10 years.
He first came to the post in 2002 to 2009, and then was again appointed into the post from 2013 to 2018.
A report by the state-owned Herald newspaper said Parirenyatwa was expected to appear in court on a corruption charge.
