Parliament debates 2020 budget statement

Parliament has started debating the 2020 budget and the financial statement of the Government for the year ending 31st December, 2020.

On Wednesday, November 13, 2020, the Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta has moved the motion for The House to approve the Financial Policy of the Government for the year 2020.

The first day of the debate centred around the main economy and Communications with the Chairman of Finance Committee, Dr. Mark Assibey Yeboah defending the Government policies as captured in the budget.

Other speakers from the government side are the two Deputy Finance Ministers, Kwaku Kwateng and Abena Osei Asare.

On the minority side, the debate was led by the Minority’s Spokesperson on Finance, Cassiel Ato Forson, supported by MP for Bolgatanga Central, Issac Adongo and MP for Ketu South, Fifi Kwetey.
