The national U-23 team, the Black Meteors have once again failed to qualify for the Olympics Games to be held in Tokyo, Japan 2020.

They lost again this afternoon was in a five -six penalty shoot out against their South African counterparts.

The Black Meteors twice came from a goal down to snatch the equaliser and took the match to extra time after two draw.

Edward Sarpong had the opportunity of scoring to win it for the Black Meteors after Kwame Baah had saved a South African kick but hit the ball over the crossbar during what is known as sudden death.

The outcome of this afternoon’s/yesterday’s match was a replica of the match in semi-finals between the Black Meteors and their Ivoirian counterparts on Tuesday.

In that match, the Black Meteors twice came from a goal down to draw the match two-two.

The team however, lost three-two on penalties, after extra-time.

Ghanaians expected the Black Meteors to make amends and pick the third remaining slot for Tokyo but it did not materialise.
