Heavy security presence at GRA Ring Road Central offices

There is heavy security presence at the fire ravaged Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) offices at the Ring Road Central in Accra.

The premises has been cordoned off to ensure evidence is not tempered with.

Personnel from the Ghana Police Service, Ghana National Fire Service (GFS), and Customs Division of the GRA, are positioned at vantage points of the premises.

The road in front of the building which serves as one of the exit routes from the Ring Road Central has also been closed to traffic.

On Sunday, fire gutted the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) offices at the Ring Road Central, headquarters annex.

It took six-hours of fire fighting by a combined team of the GNFS and the Ghana Armed Forces using 10 fire tenders to bring the fire under control.

The fire believed to have started from the second floor of the two-storey building destroyed documents, computers, laptops, air-conditioners and photo copier machines.

The GNFS on Monday, December 2, launched full-scale investigations into the fire outbreak.
