Daily Graphic says conversation on the Okada menace needs to be revisited. It says Okada has become a nuisance because of how they operate in the cities. The paper notes that mode of commercial transport has come to stay but thinks the country cannot allow the riders to continue in their carelessness and disregard for traffic rules and regulations and put the lives of citizens in danger. The Graphic says it is an irony that neighbouring countries and other jurisdictions around the world have more motorbikes than there are in Ghana but riders in those countries obey the rules. The situation becomes dire when viewed against the background that most of the victims of Okada accidents are said to be in their youth, who are the hope of the country’s future. It says the country cannot lose its most cherished resource; thus, authorities must act and it must be now.

The Ghanaian Times is unhappy with the abandoning of the four million-dollar children’s library project which was completed three years ago. The paper notes that with the building virtually abandoned, it is beginning to deteriorate and it is a waste of resources. The Times shares in the sentiments expressed by Child’s Right International on the abandoned project and urges SSNIT and the Ghana Library Authority to resolve any outstanding issues so that the facility can be put to use.

The Heritage urges Ghanaians to let their activities be guided by peace and tranquillity throughout the year. The paper notes that since the country is in an election year, normal slips could even be misrepresented by political opponents. The Heritage, therefore, appeals to Ghanaians to avoid unbridled comments. The paper finds it worrying that some people, particularly politicians inflame passions on certain national issues before discussions on them are brought to a closure.
