Mfantsiman Girls’ win 23rd Inter-Senior High School Debate

Mfantsiman Girls’ Senior High School in the Central Region has won the finals of 23rd National Inter-Senior High School Debate.

The debate which is part of activities to mark Ghana’s 63rd Independence Day was organized by the Ghana Education Service, to help the younger generation to come up with ideas that would promote peace and unity.

The finals which took place in Kumasi was between Mfantsiman Girls Senior High School, representing the Southern Zone, who spoke against the motion “Technology Makes Humans Mentally and Physically Dormant” and Yaa Asantewaa Girls Senior High School of Ashanti Region representing the Northern Zone speaking in favour of the motion.

Mfanstiman had 84 per cent to beat Yaa Asantewaa who scored 63 per cent.

The contestants each took home a laptop computer and certificate.

The Ashanti Regional Director of Education, Mary Owusu Afriyie commended the debators and their teachers for the sterling performance.
