The Volta Regional Coordinating Council is set to temporarily ban one-off market days in the region.

This forms part of measures to contain the spread of Coronavirus in the region.

To this end, the Council has begun consultations with major stakeholders to put adequate measures in place before the ban.

Trading activities will, however, be allowed on daily basis to avoid congestion which is usually associated with one-off market days at the various markets in the region.

This was disclosed by the Volta Regional Minister, Dr Archibald Letsa at a ceremony to distribute personal hygiene materials and equipment to the 18 municipal and Districts Assemblies of the Region.
