$9 million earmarked to boost tourism industry

$9 million has been earmarked to boost the tourism industry to mitigate the effect of COVID-19 on that sector.

The Minister of Tourism, Barbara Oteng-Gyasi, speaking at a media briefing in Accra said an inter-ministerial committee has been set up to assess the impact of the COVID-19 on the sector and put in measures to revive the sector.

She called for strict adherence to the social distancing protocols at all restaurants and hotels.

Madam Oteng-Gyasi added that there be strict monitoring to ensure that industry players abide by the guidelines.
