Assembly Member for Kunka at Mmamiriwa in the Obuasi Municipality of Ashanti, Francis Apoianin says water problem is making it impossible for residents to observe the handwashing protocol.

He told journalists at Obuasi that access to water is a concern due to the breakdown of two pipes and the only pipe left is not functioning as required, making the observance of handwashing protocol extremely impossible.

The Assembly Member said if the situation is not immediately addressed, it could bring a lot of problems when schools re-open.

He said currently, most people depend on water tankers for supply to their homes and places of work, and this is placing a huge financial burden on them.

Mr. Apoianin expressed concern about the deplorable road network in the area and called on the district assembly and other stakeholders to take steps to fix them to make transportation in the area comfortable.
