Information Minister-designate, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah says the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has no intention of buying a new presidential jet despite a near-fatal accident in Washington, USA.
The Information Minister- designate told the media at a press briefing that, the President and his six-member delegation arrived safely in Ghana, Sunday, September 30, 2018, via a South African Airways aircraft.
He noted that presidential jet had encountered similar challenges in the past – in 2014 and 2015.
Despite this history of the jet, Mr. Oppong Nkrumah said buying a new one is not something the President is considering since plan is not a matter on the President’s agenda.
Mr. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah added, while in the US, the President, brokered a deal with the UN Special Missions for the construction of one hundred thousand affordable housing units in Ghana.
