Today is being marked as Founders’ Day. The day has been declared a public holiday to honour the nation’s forebears.
Founders’ Day is being marked for the second time since it was approved by Parliament in 2019.
The Day was initially observed on September 21 every year, to mark the birthday of Ghana’s first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
Today also marks 46 years since Ghana switched to driving on the right side of the road. It is the last country in West Africa to change over from the left hand driving system which was introduced by the British administration.
