13 health facilities in five regions receive PPEs from Covid-19 National Trust Fund

The COVID-19 National Trust fund has presented PPEs and other items worth thousands of Ghana cedis to 13 health institutions in five regions across the country.

The presentation is the last in the first phase of the nationwide distribution of PPEs.

Chairperson of the Trust Fund, Sophia Akufo, said the second phase will focus on its social intervention program designed to help the needy and vulnerable in society.

The COVID-19 National Trust fund was established by the government to mitigate the hardship imposed by the novel coronavirus.

It is also to help the vulnerable worse affected by the virus.

The items included infrared thermometer, scrap suit, gloves, heavy-duty and disposal aprons, face mask among others.

Justice Sophia Akufo asked the beneficiary health facilities to use the medical supplies for their intended purpose. She said the Trust will monitor the use and impact of the items. Justice Sophia Akufo appealed to benevolent organizations to continue to support the Trust.
