President of International Federation of Women Lawyers, FIDA-Ghana, a human rights Organisation, Efua Adotey, says the Domestic Violence Act 2016 has been strengthened with the introduction of restraining orders to give maximum protection.

She urged victims who hitherto would not report such crimes perpetrated against them to feel emboldened to do so.

Mrs. Adotey was speaking at a sensitization  programme on the Legislative Instrument of the Domestic Violence Act, organised by the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection.

She said survivors of domestic violence must not despair but always seek help from the appropriate authorities.
