The One Day Voter Registration has been characterised by huge turnouts at some District Offices of the EC in Accra, with disagreements between Party Representatives on the time of Commencement of the exercise.

The large turnouts worsened by inadequate equipment has resulted in the Registration taking a slow pace.

GBC’s Nathaniel Nartey visited some Centers and reports of the absence of agents for the smaller Political Parties and a disregard for social distancing at the EC District Offices where the registration is ongoing.

Meanwhile, hundreds of residents of Tamale turned out to register in the ongoing limited registration exercise by the Electoral Commission.

As at 10 a.m., Thursday, October 1, more than thirty persons had registered while hundreds waited in queue for their turn.

The Tamale Metropolitan Director of the EC, Bismark Nteh, expressed shock at the turnout, saying it showed that the exercise is very necessary.

He said to speed up the process, the Metro office has made available two machines for registration.
